Areas of Research / Professional Expertise

    Design for Sustainability
My current funded research projects focus on design for sustainability - especially aspects of place-based small maker enterprises. These have involved research in New Mexico, China and the UK among others. Future projects will extend our research into craft enterprises in Cumbria in the UK, and examples of Intangible Cultural Heritage related to traditional making in China where we will be working with colleagues at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and Ningxia University.
