Mariah Larsson
Mariah Larsson is Professor of Film Studies at Linnaeus University, Sweden. Her research has, since 2008, mainly concerned film and sexuality. In particular, she has focused on the history of pornographic film in Sweden, but she has also worked on censorship, sexuality in mainstream cinema, national cinema, the Face of AIDS film archive and the films of Mai Zetterling.
Biography
Mariah Larsson received her Ph D from Lund University, Sweden, in 2006, with a dissertation on Mai Zetterling's films of the 1960s. In 2008, she received a grant from the Swedish Research Council for a post doctoral position at Malmö University, with the research group Gender, Sexuality and Social Work. She taught at the Masters Program in Sexology at Malmö University and was, for a while, the program coordinator. Between 2012 and 2016, she was Research Fellow at the Department of Media Studies at Stockholm University, and in 2016, she began working at Linnaeus University where she has been full professor since 2017.Education
