Altaf Hussain Para completed his masters in History with distinction and two gold medals from the University of Kashmir and a degree of Doctorate in modern history from the same university in 2009. He teaches history at Cluster University of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He has published papers in several reputed journals including Economic and Political Weekly besides being a regular contributor to the Greater Kashmir and Rising Kashmir.
