BiographyI am a Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I teach 3D modeling and animation at the University's Alliance for Technology, Learning, and Society. My research has been supported by DARPA, the U.S. Navy, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Army, and IBM. I have published over 60 scientific articles and my Ph.D. students have been placed in prominent academic, industrial, and governmental positions around the world. I have served as a consultant and expert witness for various corporations and the FBI.

I am also a chaplain at Boulder Community Hospital, where I work with family members and patients during full trauma situations in the Emergency Department, and visit patients. I serve as the pastor of First United Methodist Church of Pierce, Colorado.
I received my B.A. in Math from Occidental College and my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. I am also a graduate of the seminary at the Iliff School of Theology.
I am married to Wendy, and have three grown children, one who is studying engineering, another who is a bilingual teacher, and one who is a physician.
