Farid Benyahia is a professor of chemical engineering and fellow of the institution of chemical engineers, currently affiliated to the school of chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He held previously positions of faculty member and head of department in the Gulf and the United Kingdom. He was educated at the Universities of Newcastle and Aston in the United Kingdom.


Currently project manager in the school of chemical engineering, university of Birmingham. Previously Professor of chemical engineering, head of department (Qatar University, UAE University), senior lecturer (Teesside University), Research Fellow (Leeds University). Fellow of the IChemE and member of IChemE congress.

    Desalination, membrane distillation, carbon management, brine management, industrial wastewater treatment, selective oxidation, process modeling and simulation, process design and low grade waste heat utilization
