Biography
Vincent Blok is associate professor in Philosophy of Technology & Responsible Innovation at the Philosophy Group, Wageningen University (The Netherlands). In 2005 he received his PhD degree in philosophy at Leiden University with a specialization in philosophy of technology. Together with a research group of 4 post-docs and 6 PhD students, Blok is involved in several (European) research projects at the crossroads of Business Ethics and Responsible Innovation, Philosophy of Technology and Environmental Philosophy. His books include Ernst Jünger’s Philosophy of Technology. Heidegger and the Poetics of the Anthropocene (Routledge 2017); Heidegger’s Concept of Philosophical Method: Innovating Philosophy in the Age of Global Warming (Routledge 2019). Blok’s work appeared amongst others in Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology, Philosophy & Technology, Business Ethics Quarterly, Environmental Values, Public Understanding of Science, Journal of Responsible Innovation and other journals.
