FEATURED AUTHOR
OLIVIA J WILKINSON
I work at the intersection of sociology of religion and international humanitarian/development studies. My main research interests focus on social and cultural capital in disaster response and the influence of secular and religious values in shaping humanitarian action. I have a PhD and Master's in humanitarian action from Trinity College Dublin and Université catholique de Louvain respectively. My undergraduate degree in Theology and Religious Studies is from the University of Cambridge.
Biography
I have an interest in examining inequalities and biases in the international humanitarian system. Given my interdisciplinary background that spans humanitarian and development studies and sociology of religion, I am particularly interested in secular and religious dynamics as part of the biases we see in the humanitarian system. I am also very interested in continuing to diversify my research into localization in the humanitarian system. I have been focusing particularly on the role of local faith actors and am now aiming to look more generally at the debates in localization.Education
