Jana has taught movement for actors for more than 20 years. She is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and the Michael Chekhov Technique. An award winning director, she teaches, coaches, and acts in South Florida and throughout the U.S.

Biography

Jana Tift has taught the Alexander Technique and movement for actors for over twenty years in both academic and professional settings. A former member of the Graduate Acting Faculty at Florida Atlantic University she now coaches actors, singers, instrumentalists, and public speakers throughout the U.S. and abroad, including the Lawrence University Conservatory, Dreyfoos School of the Arts, New World School of the Arts, Young Arts, and the Lovewell Institute. She has been a Hendrix-Murphy Foundation Artist-in-Residence at Hendrix College and an artist-in-residence at The Ragdale Foundation.  She has taught workshops at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, the International University Theatre Association and the Florida Professional Theatres Association. An award-winning director, she is a teaching member of Alexander Technique International and a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society
