Founding Director of the 'Centre for Trauma, Asylum and Refugees’ and of the MA and PhD in 'Refugee Care' at the University of Essex. Honorary Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Family Therapist at the Tavistock Centre. He is a practising Clinical Psychologist, Systemic Family Therapist and Jungian Psychoanalyst, trainer and supervisor. As consultant to various organisations he works with refugees, tortured persons and other survivors of political violence and disasters in many countries
