Fernando Castrillon
Dr. Castrillón is a personal and supervising psychoanalyst, a licensed clinical psychologist, Full Professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), faculty of the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC) and the founder and director of the Foundation of California Psychoanalysis (FCP). He is the Editor in Chief of the European Journal of Psychoanalysis & is a member of the Istituto Elvio Fachinelli ISAP (Institute of Advanced Studies in Psychoanalysis).

Biography
Fernando Castrillón, Psy.D., earned an M.A. in Sociology from the University of California, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).In addition to his private practice, he serves as Full Professor in the Community Mental Health Department at CIIS and is the founding Director of CIIS’ The Clinic Without Walls, an innovative psychotherapy clinic serving mostly working poor and immigrant communities who would otherwise not have access to mental health services.
Dr. Castrillón is also a personal and supervising psychoanalyst and has served on the editorial boards of the journals Ecopsychology and Universitas Psychologicas among others. Dr. Castrillon is Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Psychoanalysis and a member of the Istituto Elvio Fachinelli ISAP (Institute of Advanced Studies in Psychoanalysis) based in Rome, Italy, and is on the faculty of the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC).
His clinical, teaching, and research interests include the production of subjectivity (both human and more-than-human), psychoanalysis, community mental health, ecopsychology, poststructuralist social/cultural theory, schizoanalysis, liberatory politics, cosmology, entheogens, the impact of hypervelocity technological change on subjectivity, the intersection of critical social theory and psychoanalysis, the eroticization of anxiety/angst/anguish, contemporary approaches to the treatment of psychosis, xenopsychology, violent political movements, war, terrorism and revolution.
In 2010 he co-edited, with Doug Vakoch, a special double issue of the journal ReVision, entitled “Ecopsychology” and published a co-edited book with Doug Vakoch, entitled Ecopsychology, Phenomenology and the Environment: The Experience of Nature: Springer Press (2014). He is currently writing a multivolume work on psychoanalysis, the discourse of capitalism, and the California Dream.
