Kurt A. Rosentrater Author of Evaluating Organization Development

Kurt A. Rosentrater

Associate Professor
Iowa State University

Dr. Kurt Rosentrater focuses on applying the principles of biology, chemistry, and physics to sustainably improve the supply and use of foods, feeds, and fuels. He works particularly with grain harvesting, handling, storage, preservation, and processing, as well as grain coproducts, especially developing value-added uses and applications.

Dr. Kurt Rosentrater is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Iowa State University.  His research focuses on the development of value-added coproducts and processes for biofuel manufacturing, sustainability of biorenewable resources, and improvements in processing efficiencies and life cycles.  His expertise is in value-added product development, alternative recycling and reprocessing strategies, modeling and simulation of processing systems, plant layout, and process design.  Prior to his work at Iowa State, he was a Lead Scientist with the United States Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Research Service, where he led the agency’s only distillers grains research program.  Before that, he was an assistant professor at Northern Illinois University in the Department of Engineering and Industrial Technology, and he also worked for a design-build firm where he was responsible for facility, process, and equipment design.
