Steve is a Professor at the University of Otago, New Zealand where he teaches courses in Sociology of Sport,and Sport, Media & Culture. His research focuses on globalisation, national identity, media and advertising. Biography
Steve Jackson is a Professor at the University of Otago where he specialises in the socio-cultural analysis of sport. His research interests include: globalisation, national identity and sport media.In addition to his post at Otago Steve has served as a Visiting Professor at Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic), the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland), the University of British Columbia (Canada), the National Taiwan Normal University and was recently appointed as a Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg (South Africa). Steve is a past-President of the International Sociology of Sport Association.
