Liz Karter is a leading UK expert in gambling addiction in women. With an excellent reputation for making sense of this complex addiction, Liz makes frequent appearances on TV, radio & in newsprint worldwide & regularly writes for international addiction publications. Having worked with all leading UK gambling treatment agencies & in private practice since 2001, Liz writes and speaks in an accessible style, and from experience of helping hundreds of women stop gambling & start living.
Biography
Liz has been taught, from both her rich and varied personal, as well as professional, experience, that life's ups and downs truly are "all about relationship" - just as she puts forward in her second book 'Working Women's Groups for Problem Gambling'. Her work with gambling addiction since 2001 led her to specialize in the much misunderstood area of women & gambling. In 2006 she the first UK Women's Groups for Problem Gambling. Liz's unique experience, specialization and approachable style has led to frequent media commentating and writing. In 2010 she established her Independent practice, Level Ground Therapy. Having great, supportive family and friends (including her faithful writing companion, the terrier, Oscar) has been invaluable throughout. Liz continues to pursue her passions of writing and providing gambling addiction treatment in her home county of Sussex and in the City of London.Education
