"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."
Nelson Mandela
As COVID-19 ravages countries around the world, the connection given by our world languages have never been more important, and connect us better than ever before. We all need to consider the myriad ways in which humans communicate with other humans in our globalised world, and the benefits that these connections bring. For me, it is an opportunity to look at the last ten years of Routledge language learning, which has seen the publication of over 500 new books- books which chart the ascendancy of some languages, and the repositioning of others.
If you have a new book idea which you would like to be considered for inclusion in the Routledge Language Learning publishing programme, please contact me at [email protected]
