Cultural Studies: Book Series

Critical Humanities Across Cultures

Series Editor:

Critical Humanities Across Cultures initiates two related paths of critical inquiries: (i) to unravel the assumptions that govern European account about itself and through them its representations of other cultures like the Indian (Asian or African); (ii) to risk and open up inquiries into reflective practical traditions of non-European cultures which sustained a certain cultural integrity in their locations and spread it beyond. The series affirms the necessity of such a reoriented inquiry into differing performative reflective traditions today; for it may respond to the contemporary crises in several domains such as ethics, art, caste, action, justice, science, university, the human and the question of living together with difference.
