In recent years there has been an increasing devaluation of Humanities subjects, resulting in budget cuts, falling student and faculty numbers, and increasing barriers to securing funding for academic research.
In this snapshot we examine the issues Humanities departments are facing, and look at some responses to these issues, taking key areas of the humanities and asking why and how these areas can demonstrate their essentialness in our increasingly technological world.
