Open Access at Routledge and Taylor & Francis

Taylor & Francis has been publishing academic research since 1798 and Routledge since 1836. We have been publishing on an open access (OA) basis since 2006.

We offer a broad range of author options, enabling authors to publish their material in quality open access journals with a high degree of peer review integrity. For more information on our open access journals please visit here.

We are actively engaged with the open access research community and details of our extensive survey among academics into OA can be found here.

We are pleased to collaborate with JISC and OAPEN, as part of a pilot (the OAPEN-UK research project) to study open access in research monograph publishing. A selection of Routledge titles have been made available as open access – see here for more details.

More recently, we established an open access publishing model for research monographs through Routledge Books Open Access on the Routledge/Taylor & Francis ebooks platform.

Cogent OA

In September 2013 Taylor & Francis launched Cogent OA a new autonomous Open Access publisher that puts authors at the heart of everything it does.
