    Biography

    Harvey B. Silverstein is assistant professor and director of the Undergraduate Program in International Studies at the University of South Carolina. He has served as an advisor to the National Science Foundation, a research fellow at both the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Harvard Center for International Affairs, and recently was part of a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) design team working on the potential for artificial offshore islands off the east coast of the U.S.
