The Future of Leadership considers how the rapid changes of today will affect the leaders of tomorrow. Renowned Leadership scholar Michael A. Genovese argues that one of the key challenges for future leaders will be to effectively and constructively manage the ‘hyper-change’ taking place both within organizations and in the broader social and political spheres. Taking a Futures Studies approach to envision the state of leadership in the coming decades, Genovese also provides case studies of leaders who have already demonstrated the mind- and skill-sets necessary to successfully manage rapid change.

Preface 1. Hyper-Change: Scary, Challenging, Disruptive, Inevitable  2. The Driving Forces of Hyper-Change  3. Surviving and Thriving: The Nimble, Adaptive Polymath Leader  4. Conclusion

"In his typically compelling and lucid way, Michael Genovese has distilled the essence of the new era of 'hyper-change' that challenges, if not threatens, humanity. With wit and clarity, Genovese plots out a futurist road map for leaders in the public and private sectors to confront the four great global challenges: technology, environment, globalization, and demographics. Genovese helps us see around the curve." - Robert J. "The burden of leadership is largely the burden of facing the future. In the coming decades, the weight of that burden will only increase as the speed of change continues to accelerate. And to understand the implications of that acceleration, there is no better place to start than with Michael Genovese's thoughtful and engaging study The Future of Leadership, which offers a game plan for the future in the form of leveraged leadership." - Norman W. Provizer, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Golda Meir Center for Political Leadership, Metropolitan State University of Denver, USA

“However, the bullet-like style and short paragraphs likely assist in the generation of some useful ideas for those wanting to rethink their conceptions about current leadership practices or approaches, especially about adaptive leadership.” -Francis C. Staskon, PhD, Senior Analyst at Walgreens
