    First Published in 1976. Sir Alec Kirkbride was born in Nottinghamshire in 1897, but grew up in Egypt. He was an army officer from 1916 to 1920 and then Deputy Resident in Transjodran from 1927 to 37. This book is a collection of his Amman Memoirs 1947-1951 when he was serving as the Ambassador to the United Kingdom to The Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan in 1946 and played an important diplomatic role during the Arab-Israeli war.
