  1. Urban Design Group Awards 2013 (February )

    Congratulations to the authors Peter Bishop and Lesley Williams, for winning the Publisher Award for The Temporary City at this years Urban Design Group Awards at the Royal Overseas League in London.  

    Hosted by Amanda Reynolds, the evening showcased some of the best examples of urban design work produced in the UK and beyond over the past 12 months.

    Awards were presented in five categories by Janet Tibbalds on the behalf of the Francis Tibbalds Trust. The winners in the Practice, Public Sector and Student Award categories were selected by a vote of the Urban Design Group membership.

  7. The Temporary City reviewed on The Pop-Up City blog

    The Temporary City has received another very positive review on internet blog, The Pop-Up City, who describe Peter Bishop and Lesley Williams' new book as "a decent and thorough-full document that combines inspiring examples with interesting academic reflections."
     

  8. Responsive Environments wins Lifetime Achievement Award

    On Wednesday 15th February 2012, Routledge attended the Urban Design Group (UDG) Awards in London, held at the prestigious 61 Whitehall in London. Routledge were very proud to be one of the sponsers for this event, with awards presented for Best Student, Best Public Sector Project, Best Publisher, Best Practice and Lifetime Achievement. We are delighted to announce that Responsive Environments was awarded this year's Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the Chair of the Urban Design Group, Amanda Reynolds, and our congratulations go to the authors, Alan Alcock, Paul Murrain, Sue McGlynn and Graham Smith, and editor Ian Bently.
     

  9. Leonardo Vazquez wins National Planning Leadership Award

    Leonardo Vazquez, one of the editors of the upcoming book "Diálogos", was recently chosen as the winner of the American Planning Association's 2012 National Planning Leadership Award for Advancing Diversity and Social Change in Honor of Paul Davidoff.   10. Donald Shoup in Los Angeles Magazine discussing free parking

    Donald Shoup, author of The High Cost of Free Parking was featured in Los Angeles Magazine last month, in an article entitled "Between the Lines", in which Shoup raises his arguments against free parking and his proposals for new ways that cities could regulate parking. Read more >>>
