    Artificial intelligence (AI) has been fast growing since its evolution and experiments with various new add-on features; human efficiency is one among those and the most controversial topic. This chapter focuses on its attention towards studying human consciousness and AI independently and in conjunction. It provides theories and arguments on AI being able to adapt human-like consciousness, cognitive abilities and ethics. This chapter studies responses of more than 300 candidates of the Indian population and compares it against the literature review. Furthermore, it also discusses whether AI could attain consciousness, develop its own set of cognitive abilities (cognitive AI), ethics (AI ethics) and overcome human beings’ efficiency. This chapter is a study of the Indian population’s understanding of consciousness, cognitive AI and AI ethics.

    Biography

    Raul V. Rodriguez Professor

    Dr. Raul Villamarin Rodriguez is the Vice President, Woxsen University and holds the Steven Pinker Professor of Cognitive Psychology and Classavo Chair Professorship in Integrative Research and Digital Learning. Dr. Rodríguez is an Adjunct Professor at Universidad del Externado, Colombia and member of the International Advisory Board at IBS Ranepa, Russian Federation, and a member of the IAB, University of Pécs Faculty of Business and Economics. He is also part of the PRME i5 Expert Pedagogy Group - India representative. He holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Process Automation applications in Human Resources. Dr. Rodriguez’s specific areas of expertise and interest are Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Robotic Process Automation, Multi-agent Systems, Knowledge Engineering, and Quantum Artificial Intelligence. He has the experience and feels comfortable using Prolog, Java, C++, Python, R/RStudio, Julia, Swift, Scala, MySQL, and Spark, among others. He is a registered expert in Artificial intelligence, Intelligent Systems, and Multi-agent Systems at the European Commission, a nominee for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2020 list, and awardee in the Europe India 40 under 40 Leaders. Alongside this, he is a member of the GRLI Deans and Directors cohort. He is a regular keynote speaker and panel moderator at various national and international conferences or summits such as ML Conference (Singapore). Additionally, he is a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, the ETS Business School Advisory Council (BSAC) in India, and the Institute for Robotics Process Automation & Artificial Intelligence. He is engaged in He has co-authored two reference books: “New Age Leadership: A Critical Insight” and “Retail Store’e” and has more than 70 publications to his credit.     Dr. Hemachandran Kannan is a Professor in the department of Artificial Intelligence & Business Analytics at School of Business, Woxsen University, India and holds the Zita Zoltay Paprika of Decision Sciences and Business Economics and Course5i- Chair Professor of Business Analytics and Machine Learning. He has been a passionate teacher with 15 years of teaching experience and 5 years of research experience. A strong educational professional with a scientific bent of mind, highly skilled in AI & Business Analytics. After receiving a PhD in embedded systems, He started focusing on Interdisciplinary research. He served as an effective resource person at various national and international scientific conferences and panel discussions. He also gave lectures on topics related to Artificial Intelligence & Business Analytics. He was bestowed as Best faculty at Woxsen University in 2021-2022 and also in Ashoka Institute of Engineering & Technology in 2019 – 2020. He is having rich working experience in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Building Video recommendation systems, Building Chatbots for HR policies and Education Sector, Automatic Interview processes, and Autonomous Robots. Dr. Hemachandran is currently working on various real-time use cases and projects in collaboration with Industries such as Advertflair, Nosh Technologies, Course5i and Apstek Corp. He has organized many International Conferences, Hackathons and Ideathon. He owed four patents to his credentials. He has a life membership in estimable professional bodies. An open-ended positive person who has a stupendous peer-reviewed publication record with more than 35 journals and international conference publications. As of now, he has edited CRC Press Taylor and Francis books such as Bayesian Reasoning and Gaussian Process for Machine Learning Applications, machine learning for Business Analytics and Coded Leadership Developing Scalable Management in an AI -induced Quantum World.

    Dr Anindita Majumdar

    Associate Professor, School of Liberal arts and humanities, Woxsen University

    Dr. Anindita Majumdar is an Academician and RCI registered Psychologist. She is the recipient of the Young Faculty Award at Higher Education & Research Summit 2021, conferred jointly by the International Benevolent Research Foundation and the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU). In January 2022, she received the Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award conferred by the World Achiever’s Foundation for her contribution to the field of Psychological research. She received Young Researcher Award, in April 2023 for her empirical work on body privacy training through dance movement techniques, conferred jointly by InScA, IBRF, and CIU. She has 12 years of work experience in boththe Education and Corporate sectors. She is associated with the Association of Rehabilitation Psychologists & Professionals (ARPP-India) and the International Benevolent Research Foundation as a Life Member. She has extensive experience in practicing Psychometric Assessment, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Skill Training & Development, Child Development & Parenting Psycho-educational Training, and Behavioural & Educational Management in the field of Special Educational Intervention. Her areas of teaching and research inclinations include Creativity & Creative Psychotherapy, Expressive Arts, Qualitative Analysis, Clinical/ Rehabilitation Psychology, Positive Psychology, Personality Studies, Applied Social Psychology, and Developmental and Educational Psychology. She has several papers presented and published in these domains at both national and international levels.

    Dr Ranita Basu

    Associate Professor, School of Liberal arts and humanities, Woxsen University

    Dr Ranita Basu is an academician and has been associated with education industry for more than 15 years. She did her PhD from The University of Calcutta from the Applied Psychology Department and also qualified NET exam. Her research interest deeply is in behavioral science. Her research areas are – self efficacy, emotional intelligence, work-family conflict, digital detox, employee engagement program, work satisfaction, organizational stress, HR analytic, employee motivation and anxiety etc. She has many publications in indexed journals, presented paper in conferences, contributed book chapter and had written 2 books. Apart from teaching and research, she has worked as paper setter, moderator and examiner for many reputed Institutes/ Universities in India. She has also worked as a panelist for some public sector organizations and also served a resource person for many training programs, Faculty Development Programs and Management Development Programs organized by various private sector all over in India.
