Biography

Ciro Gilvetti DDS, MFDS RCSEd, AFHEA, M(OralSurg) RCSEd, MClinDent OS, PG Cert Clinical Ed, PG Cert Sed (London) DipOM (EAOM) is a specialist Oral Surgeon with a special interest in Oral Medicine, including the diagnosis and management of infective, premalignant and immunological oral diseases. After intensive training at University Federico II, Naples, Italy, he has achieved postgraduate qualifications in Dental Sedation and Pain Management, Oral Medicine, Oral Implantology, Clinical Education and has completed his Master in Oral Surgery. Ciro is a Locum Consultant in Oral Surgery at East Surrey Hospital, UK, with extensive experience in oral mucosal diseases and complex oral surgical procedures. He has a strong background in teaching at Master's level and on postgraduate courses. He has presented nationally and internally and has helped write exam questions and teaching material during his lecturing roles at the College of Medicine and Dentistry, Birmingham, and at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. He is the lead for the “Oral Mucosa Clinic” at Queen Victoria Hospital, UK, and has published in several peer-reviewed journals.

Gavin J. Wilson BDS (Glas), MBA, F(OS) RCPS (Glasg), M(Oral Surg) RCPS(Glasg), MFDS RCPS (Glasg), PG Cert MedEd, Dip Con Sed, is a Consultant Oral Surgeon at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Scotland. He completed Oral Surgery Specialty training in Yorkshire and the Humber region, in 2022, registering as a GDC registered specialist in Oral Surgery thereafter. He has significant involvement in education, is Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at University of Glasgow and delivers postgraduate courses nationwide on a variety of topics including exam preparation, conscious sedation and oral surgery related subjects. His main interests lie in conscious sedation, patient safety and healthcare leadership. Gavin is involved in guideline and policy development having worked with Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme, Care Quality Commission and the Office of the Chief Dental Officer, NHS England, whilst completing a leadership fellowship via the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM).

Pav Chana BDS (Manc), MFDS RCPS (Glasg), PgCert Health Professionals Education, FHEA, MRes (DPH), M(Oral Surg), F(OS), PGCert Healthcare Management and Leadership,is a specialist Oral Surgeon who completed her specialist training in Oral Surgery in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Pav has taken an active role in education in both clinical and non-clinical settings. She is passionate about improving the healthcare system through quality improvement and seeing more diversity in senior leadership positions. To support her passions, she completed a Clinical Leadership Fellowship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals during which she obtained a distinction in her Healthcare Leadership and Management Postgraduate Certificate. Her academic background includes a Master of Research in Dental Public Health from the University of Manchester. She is committed to her speciality and is a representative on a number of national committees. She has won several prizes, presented nationally and internationally, and published in several journals. Pav is now appointed as a Locum Consultant and works as a specialist in secondary care organisations.
