Fadi S. Alshakhshir has been a leader in the Middle East’s facility management sector, shaping its future through his expertise, innovation, and commitment to excellence. With over 20 years of experience, he has played an important role in managing some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks, earning recognition as one of the region’s top professionals in the field. His journey began with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, where he built a strong foundation in energy and mechanical systems. He further enhanced his knowledge with a Master of Science in Energy from Heriot-Watt University, focusing on sustainable energy practices. Fadi has achieved several key certifications, including LEED Green Associate, Certified Energy Manager, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance Facilitator. As a Certified ISO Auditor for ISO 50001 and ISO 14001, he brings a well-rounded and sustainability-driven approach to facility management. His career includes leadership positions at Dubai Holding, Emaar Properties, and Damac Properties, where he contributed to the development and operation of world-famous landmarks. One of Fadi’s most notable achievements is the creation of the energy-centered maintenance (ECM) model in 2015. This innovative approach integrates energy efficiency into maintenance strategies, improving performance and reducing costs. His first book, Energy-Centered Maintenance – A Green Maintenance System (2017), was followed by Data-Driven Energy-Centered Maintenance in 2021, which emphasized the use of data analytics to optimize maintenance practices. In 2025, Fadi further advanced this concept with AI-Driven Energy-Centered Maintenance, showcasing the potential of artificial intelligence to revolutionize energy efficiency and predictive maintenance in large-scale operations. Fadi is passionate about using advanced technologies, such as AI and IoT, to improve energy management in major projects. He is also committed to mentoring future leaders, encouraging innovation and progress in the industry.
