    Biography

    Pramod N. Bonde, MD,  is an associate professor of cardiac surgery at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Bonde develops and installs heart pumps to support the function of the heart and lungs. He leads a research group that includes close to a dozen physicians, engineers and student assistants, all working on developing fully implantable artificial hearts. He is the current President of the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO) and has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2013.
