Biography

Yehia A. Mohamed is an Associate Professor of Arabic and Program Coordinator at Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q). With a doctorate in Arabic and Semitic Studies from Cairo University, acquired in 2008, Dr. Mohamed has significantly contributed to Arabic language programs at renowned institutions such as George Washington University, Middle East Institute, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, and Georgetown University. His expertise spans applied linguistics, focusing on language acquisition, error analysis, phonology, and sociolinguistics. Dr. Mohamed has authored two books on Arabic and Semitic language phonology and co-authored Diplomacy Arabic. His latest content-based textbook, Reading the Arab World (Routledge, 2022), underlines his commitment to Arabic education and research.
