Biography

Tom Shippey holds the Alter J. Ong S.J. Chair of Humanities at Saint Louis University. He has published repeatedly on Beowulf and Old English peotry generally. His colleague Professor Andreas Haarder published the groundbreaking study Beowulf: the Appeal of a Poem (1975).
