Biography

Ayman Shama is a Structural Engineer with more than 30 years of experience. He is a registered Professional Engineer in seven States. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI). He was involved in the design, review, or forensic studies of several cable stayed bridges in the US, Canada, Panama, and India. Dr Shama has Chaired the SEI Technical Committee on performance-based design of structures and the SEI Administrative Committee on Performance of Structures. He also lectured for the Continuing Education Program of American Society of Civil Engineers. Currently, he is member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Bridge Engineering. He is a recipient of an award from National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention, Hyogo, Japan. Dr. Shama is currently Program Manager with Parsons in NYC, where he focuses on design-build projects, complex bridges and earthquake engineering.
