Biography

Bhalchandra Shingan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Gas Engineering, and an M.Sc. in Gas Engineering & Management from the University of Salford, UK. With over 13 years of academic and research experience, Dr. Shingan has been actively engaged in teaching and curriculum development across various energy-related domains. Notably, he has taught City Gas Distribution and Pipeline Network Analysis for over 12 years, integrating industry case studies, modeling tools, and simulation techniques.

His research interests include LNG cold energy utilization, natural gas processing, pipeline simulation and optimization, sustainable energy systems, and environmental risk assessment. Dr. Shingan has published more than 30 research and conference papers, including multiple Q1 and Q2 SCIE-indexed journal articles. He has contributed book chapters with internationally reputed publishing house and served as a reviewer for reputed journals such as Chemical Engineering & Technology, Energy Sources Part A, and Discover Chemical Engineering.

He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), the Natural Gas Society (NGS), and the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI). His contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including Outstanding Contribution Awards from SPE in 2014 and 2024. Dr. Shingan is known for his project-based learning approach and strong engagement in industry-academia collaboration, making his work especially relevant for both academic and professional audiences in the natural gas and CGD sector
