Biography

Pieter van Nes is Research Fellow at the EU*Asia Institute of ESSCA School of Management, Angers, France. He has a PhD in Nuclear Physics and was formerly Head of Unit and Adviser at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.

'The concept of a ‘Moon Village’ emerged from Europe, not as a blueprint for a single project, but as an invitation to imagine a shared future. It has stimulated discussions among engineers, scientists, policymakers, and philosophers about what it means to create a sustainable society beyond Earth. This volume carries those conversations forward, bringing together diverse perspectives and forms of expertise. By examining questions of architecture, governance, diplomacy, and technology side by side, the book demonstrates the value of connecting different communities of knowledge.'
