Gisele M. Arruda is a professor in Circumpolar Studies in the field of Energy, Arctic, Climate Change, Environment and Society. She is a member of the US Arctic Committee, an honorary member of University of Aberdeen, a country director of the UK branch of International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association, New York, US, a Council member of Polar Educators International. She is the author of Renewable Energy for the Arctic: New Perspectives and Sustainable Energy Education in the Arctic: The Role of Higher Education, by Routledge.

Lara Johannsdottir is a professor of environment and natural resources at the University of Iceland (UIce) and a former academic director of the Environment and Natural Resources graduate programme (2019). Johannsdottir is a board member of the Institute of Business Administration, heads the Environmental and Sustainability Committee of the UICE, and is a former board of the UI research fund, and the School of Social Sciences evaluation committee.
