Biography

Theresa Hardman is adjunct associate professor in Architecture at the University of the Free State, South Africa. She runs her own architectural practice and is a professional heritage practitioner specializing in the vernacular architecture of the Karoo. Many of her projects are based in the Karoo, but she works across South Africa. In 2019, she completed a PhD on “Understanding Creative Intuition – Perspectives from Eastern and Western Philosophy.” With 26 years of experience teaching design and drawing at university, she now facilitates art, qigong, and creativity workshops, as well as weekend retreats focused on nurturing creative intuition. Theresa works in various visual art mediums, including charcoal, pencil, watercolor, ink, monoprint, and linocut printing.
