'This book is an essential read because, as it says on the cover, it helps clinicians develop their practice beyond the common and reductive white Western middle-class Anglophone viewpoint. Contributions from international top practitioners makes it a rich book, and a vital resource for all sex therapists as we work with diverse populations.'

Silva Neves is a psychosexual and relationship therapist, Author of Sexology: The Basics

'Developing Cultural Sensitivity in Psychosexual Therapy  is a rare and generous offering to the field. It invites practitioners into a shared ethical and relational project, to practise psychosexual therapy with communities, rather than on them, as subjects The book models how psychosexual work itself can heal, by listening across borders, learning across traditions, and valuing subjectivity and distributed knowledge over hierarchical expertise. Bringing together theory, clinical reflections, and implications for practice, this thoughtfully curated collection is highly recommended for psychosexual and relationship therapists, educators, and allied professionals. More than a source of knowledge, it challenges us to envision a practice rooted in mutual respect, humility, and collaboration.'

Mamood Ahmad is a UKCP psychotherapist, and author of A New Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy: Embedding Context, Diversity and Equity into Practice

'In a world where sexuality is too often filtered through Western narratives, this book offers a courageous and necessary widening of the lens. Bringing together voices from diverse cultures, faiths, and clinical traditions, it challenges the illusion of universality in psychosexual theory and practice. Each chapter reveals how history, identity, power, and place shape the ways people love, desire, and heal. This is not just a collection of insights—it is a call to rethink the very foundations of our work as therapists. With honesty and depth, the contributors illuminate pathways toward a more inclusive, decolonised, and culturally attuned understanding of sexual wellbeing. This book invites readers to listen more carefully, practice more humbly, and honour the rich human diversity at the heart of psychosexual care.'
