Biography

Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem is a digital fashion innovator working at the Manchester Fashion Institute of the Manchester Metropolitan University. In parallel to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervising PhD projects, he leads a research project on digital fashion and has been chairing the annual event "Digital Fashion Innovation Symposium" since 2020. He obtained a PhD from the University of Manchester, an MSc. from the Technische Universit├Ąt Dresden and a BSc. from the University of Dhaka. Before joining the Manchester Met, Dr. Sayem worked as an Associate Professor in the Textile Department and as the Head of the Centre of Scientific Research and Innovation (CSRI) of the Southeast University, Bangladesh. He is a fellow and trustee of the Textile Institute, a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy as well as an alumnus of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) in Germany.
