Biography

Gheorghe Oancea received his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania , and is a PhD supervisor in the same university. Since 2003, he has been a full professor and he was Head of the Manufacturing Engineering Department (2011-2016) and Dean of Technological Engineering and Industrial Management Faculty (2016-2024), Transylvania University of Brasov. Professor Oancea has authored and co-authored 18 books/book chapters, two patents, and more than 180 scientific publications from which 80 are Clarivate (WoS) indexed. He has served as conference chairman, keynote speaker, and reviewer for several important scientific journals and international conferences. His current research interests are in innovative manufacturing technologies, CAD/CAE/CAPP/CAM systems, additive manufacturing, and reverse engineering.

Panagiotis Kyratsis (www.kyratsis.com) is the Head of the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. He is the Director of the Research Institute of Traditional Architecture and Cultural Heritage, and Director of the Computational Design and Digital Fabrication Research Laboratory. He has been involved in several industrial projects, and he has great expertise in both the design and the manufacturing aspects of product development. His main research interests include advanced manufacturing, CAD/CAM/CAE, product design, reverse engineering, and prototyping.
