His publications include: From Justinian to Branimir: the making of the Middle Ages in Dalmatia (2021), Becoming Slav, Becoming Croat: Identity Transformations in Post-Roman Dalmatia (2010) and Illyricum in Roman Politics, 229BC-AD 68 (2010).
‘... Džino’s work challenges entrenched nationalist narratives that have long shaped scholarly understandings of Hum and Bosnia’s origins. His principal achievement lies in dismantling simplistic regional biases and myths found in Serbian, Bosnian (and Bosniak), and Croatian historiographies, instead situating Hum and Bosnia within broader Mediterranean, Byzantine, and Carolingian imperial frameworks’ - The Historical Review (Belgrade) 74 (2025).
‘... the book represents a "missing link" that fills the gap in the historiography of this period. The author's critical approach to written sources and the greater use of material sources and achievements of archaeology are particularly noteworthy’ - Contributions of Institute for History in Sarajevo 54 (2025).
