Biography

Christy Teranishi Martinez is a Professor at California State University Channel Islands. Her research focuses on positive psychology, exploring factors that contribute to well-being, including flow, spirituality, and happiness, as well as the role of creative expression in promoting healing, empowerment, and recovery for survivors of intimate partner violence. Passionate about maintaining a healthy work-life balance, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and running with her son, Hayden, and fur babies, Mochi and Chibi.

Jody Sanborn is a nationally recognized leader in sexual violence prevention and response with more than two decades of experience advancing prevention strategies, strengthening organizational and community capacity, and fostering systems change in rural communities. An ultrarunner and climber, Jody lives in the mountains of Wyoming with her husband, daughter, and their four-legged adventure partner, Dotty. Her passion for outdoor spaces informs her commitment to fostering communities where all people can safely participate, belong, and thrive.
