Biography

Melanie Schranz is a senior researcher at Lakeside Labs, specializing in swarm intelligence algorithms for cyber-physical systems. She made impactful contributions in agent-based modeling and optimization from the bottom-up in various application domains including Industry 4.0 and edge-fog-cloud computing.

Wilfried Elmenreich is a Professor of Smart Grids at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Austria, where he focuses on intelligent energy systems and self-organizing systems. He has published over 200 articles and authored several books in the field of networked and embedded systems.

Farshad Arvin is a Professor of Robotics at the University of Durham, specializing in swarm robotics and biohybrid robotics. He has previously held positions at the University of Manchester and has authored numerous publications while directing the Swarm & Computational Intelligence Laboratory.
