Ethics and Professionalism in Engineering

About the Book Series

Ethics is one of the primary pillars and a fundamental principle in the field of engineering. Professional ethics is often referred to as a set of standards that people in a given discipline and profession are to adhered to and they are expected to uphold those standards when that profession is publicity practiced. This new series intends to provide an outlet to discuss and present responsibilities and expectations that come with this profession in practice. This new series will also provide a scientific and practical basis for researchers, practitioners, and students involved in areas within ethics in engineering. It will include professional responsibilities of those that practice this profession. Issues envisioned to be addressed include: Professional morality, engineering standards, privacy and social responsibilities of engineers and scientists, risks and public policy, government roles in developing professional practice standards, product lability, engineering practices and environmental laws, role of technology in engineering practice, cultural issues and international standards, nepotism and its impacts in organizational morale.
