Biography

 Simone Casiraghi is a Guest Professor and Post-Doctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) at the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) research group, where he obtained his PhD in law in 2024. He previously studied philosophy in Milan and at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He is a member of the Brussels Laboratory for Data Protection and Privacy Impact Assessments (d.pia.lab) and Treasurer of the Belgian section of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (B-IVR). His research focuses on legal philosophy, risk-based regulations (including the AI Act and the Digital Services Act), sociology of risk and energy communities.
