Biography
Imtiaz Ahmed, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of Kashmir, India. His pioneering research contribution is the determination of the essential amino acid requirements of Cirrhinus mrigala and Heteropneustes fossilis at the fingerling stage. Key findings of his research projects have been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture for proper implementation through DST–New Delhi. He also reported the protein and vitamin requirements and energy maintenance requirements of several cultured fish species. Dr. Ahmed has published more than 100 papers in international journals and has several book chapters to his credit. He has supervised several MPhil and doctoral students in the areas of fish nutrition, fish physiology, reproductive biology, and limnology.
Ishtiyaq Ahmad, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of Kashmir, India. Previously, Dr. Ahmad worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Division of Fish Genetics and Biotechnology at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, India. He specializes in fish nutrition, fish physiology and biochemistry, nutrigenomics, fish parasitology, and molecular biology. His major research contribution is the establishment of optimum branched chain amino acid requirements for rainbow trout. He is an author of more than 35 research articles and several book chapters. He has presented his work at state, national, and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia and has received awards for his work.
Shabihul Fatma Syed, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Jazan University, Saudi Arabia. She is a research scientist with over 13 years of international academic teaching and research experience in biological sciences (zoology), focusing mainly on protein biochemistry, dietary protein, and amino acids requirements; vitamins and essential minerals requirements; aquatic toxicology; and pesticides/insecticides and their impact on human health. She is a skilled scientific writer and reviewer for several publishers, including Academic Press from Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Cambridge Press, etc.
