About the Editors

Yan Zhang is currently heading the Wireless Networks research group at Simula Research Laboratory, Norway. He is also an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Informatics, at the University of Oslo, Norway. He received his PhD from the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From August 2006, he has been with Simula Research Laboratory, Norway (

Zhang is an associate editor and serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Communication Systems (IJCS—Wiley), Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (WCMC—Wiley), and Security and Communication Networks (Wiley). His research interests include resource, mobility, spectrum, data, energy, and security management in wireless networks and mobile computing. He is a senior member of IEEE and IEEE ComSoc.

Mohsen Guizani is currently a professor and the associate dean of academic affairs at Kuwait University. He was the chair of the Computer ScienceDepartment at WesternMichiganUniversity from 2002 to 2006 and chair of the Computer ScienceDepartment at theUniversity ofWest Florida from 1999 to 2002. He also served in academic positions at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Colorado-Denver, and Syracuse University. He received his BS (with distinction) and MS degrees in electrical engineering, and his MS and PhD degrees in computer engineering in 1984, 1986, 1987, and 1990, respectively, from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York.

His research interests include computer networks, wireless communications and mobile computing, and optical networking. He currently serves on the editorial boards of six technical journals and is the founder and Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing journal published by John Wiley ( and the Journal of Computer Systems, Networks and Communications ( published by Hindawi. He is also the founder and the steering committee chair of the Annual International Conference of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (IWCMC). He is the author of 7 books and more than 270 publications in refereed journals and conferences and has guest edited a number of special issues in IEEE journals and magazines. He has also served as member, chair, and general chair of a number of conferences.

Dr. Guizani served as the chair of IEEE ComSoc WTC and chair of TAOS ComSoc Technical Committees. He was an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Lecturer from 2003 to 2005. He is also an IEEE fellow and a senior member of ACM.
