Biography
Swati Thakur Mirjha is Scientist (Agronomy) at IGKV, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh, India. She has 10 years of experience in extension at KVK. She received her B.Sc. (Ag.) in 2010 and M.Sc. (Ag.) in 2012 from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, India. She has qualified ICAR- NET in Agronomy discipline. She has published over 25 research papers, technical articles, etc. in reputed journals and periodicals. She has seven radio talks and live telecasts of the Doordarshan Krishi Darshan Programme. In addition, she has conducted 45 On-Farm Trials (OFT) and Front-Line Demonstrations (FLDs).
Rupesh Deshmukh is devoted to research and extension activities in Agriculture Agronomy. He is a Technical Assistant in the Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, India. He holds a doctorate in Agronomy from IGKV, CG, India. Dr. Deshmukh has received five awards from several societies for his outstanding contribution to the relevant discipline. Dr. Deshmukh stayed as the chief organizer for eleven international conferences with more than three thousand participants each and managed a team of about three hundred co-organizers each. He has also organized 58 training programs for farmers, rural youth, and agricultural professionals with 2430 participants.
Yanglem Sofia Devi holds Doctorate and Master’s degree in Agriculture (Agronomy) from Central Agricultural University, Imphal (CAU-I) and Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, India respectively. She has been working as a Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) at KVK East Garo Hills, CAU-I, Meghalaya, India since 2018, and she has made a substantial contribution to the field. Additionally, she also had experience working on different research and development projects at the Defence Institute of Bio-Energy Research (DIBER), Haldwani under the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and CIMPC, Shillong under the Directorate of Plant Protection Quarantine & Storage (DPPQ&S). Currently, she is engaged in multiple projects funded by various funding institutions. She has been conferred with ‘Young Scientist Award’ by the Society for Scientific Development in Agriculture & Technology (SSDAT) and ‘Women Scientist Award’ by the Society for Conservation of Natural Resources (SCNR) for her outstanding contribution to the field of Agronomy.
Harishankar, Ph.D. (Ag.), is devoted to research and education activities in Agronomy. He is an Assistant Professor in Agronomy at CARS, Jashpur, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. He holds M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agronomy from Rajendra Agricultural University Samastipur, Pusa, Bihar, India and Ph.D. (Ag.) in Agronomy from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Raipur, C.G., India. He has one year SRF, one year Farm Manager, and 5 years of Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) experience. Dr. Harishankar has received 2 awards from several societies for her outstanding contribution to the relevant discipline. He has published several research papers, book chapters, and popular articles and delivered lectures in different farmers’ training and radio talks.
Krishna Tandekar, as scientist in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur, India, has dedicated over a decade to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in the field. Dr Tandekar academic journey, coupled with a deep commitment to research and teaching, has been enriched by diverse experiences in genetics and plant breeding. Recently, she has had the privilege of joining the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on MuLLaRP, where she continues to contribute to the development of sustainable and high-performing crop varieties. Throughout her career, she has been fortunate to teach a range of courses in genetics and plant breeding, sharing insights with students and colleagues while staying at the forefront of scientific advancements.
Pratima Raypa holds a B.Sc. from L.S.M.Gov. P.G.College, Pithoragarh. Dr. Raypa was awarded M.Sc. (Biochemistry) and Ph.D. (Biochemistry) from the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India. Dr. Raypa is presently holding the post of guest faculty in the Department of Biochemistry at H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, India. Dr. Raypa has received a fellowship and honor in recognition to her excellent research contributions. She was awarded with UGC-NFST fellowship during her Ph.D. programme, and also awarded with Young Scientist award. Additionally, she qualified for national-level competitive exams such as CSIR NET, GATE, and U-SET. Previously, she had worked at ICAR-IVRI in Izatnagar, Bareilly, Indoa.
Anjum Ahmad is devoted to research and education activities in Agronomy. Dr Ahmad is a Senior Technical Officer in Agronomy at BTC CARS, Bilaspur, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. She holds MSc. and PhD in Agricultural Agronomy from Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Raipur, C.G., India. She has one year of SRF, 2 years of Teaching, and 10 years of farm research experience. She has knowledge of nutrient management in fodder crops, different weed flora, weed and tillage management practices in pulse crops. Well-versed in the field of experimental design and writing and submission of manuscripts. Dr. Anjum has received 6 awards from several societies for her outstanding contribution to the relevant discipline.
