“This book provides a very fine overview of the most important background and core problematiques in relation to Greenlandic ambitions for sovereignty in the context of current geopolitical dynamics. A good place to start thinking - particularly about Europe’s role.”

-       Ulrik Pram Gad, Danish Institute for International Studies

“This is a book that not only discusses the road to independence for Greenland, but carries the undertones of how the whole international system is transforming from the post-Cold War unipolarity to multipolarity. I wholeheartedly recommend it.”

-       Gunnar Rekvig, Sasakawa Peace Foundation

“This is a remarkable and timely work of exceptional intellectual quality, offering a comprehensive and nuanced analysis of one of the most geopolitically sensitive and understudied regions of our time.”

-       Lúcio de Sousa, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies

“This book on Greenland is excellently researched from a scientific perspective and uniquely bridges historical and cultural aspects with economic and ecological ones, all of which are interconnected. Its timeliness in light of destabilizing global politics and climate change makes it even more worth reading. An unrivaled expert work!”
