    by CRC Press

This comprehensive handbook describes fundamentals and recent advances in the synthesis and application of calcium-based materials, in a two-volume format.

The first volume, Calcium-Based Biomaterials: Processing and Characterization, introduces the possibility of designing these materials for particular applications. It covers a variety of calcium-based natural materials and discusses their synthesis, growth, and stability. The second volume, Advanced Synthesis and Medical Applications of Calcium Phosphates, covers the structure, chemistry, synthesis, and properties of both natural and synthetic calcium-based biomaterials. It reviews applications in biomedical engineering and medicine.

Handbook of Calcium-Based Materials, Two-Volume Set is aimed at researchers in materials science and engineering and bioengineering.

Volume 1: Calcium-Based Materials: Processing, Characterization, and Applications. Volume 2: Advanced Synthesis and Medical Applications of Calcium Phosphates.
