Biography

Arturo Realyvásquez-Vargas is a full-time professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico/Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana in Mexico. He received a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez in Mexico and a PhD in Innovation in Product Engineering and Industrial Process from the University of La Rioja (Spain). His main research areas are industrial process optimization, lean manufacturing, and ergonomics. He is a national researcher recognized by the National Council for the Humanities, Sciences, and Technologies of Mexico (CONAHCYT) as level I.

Jorge Luis García-Alcaraz is a full-time professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. He obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Colima (Mexico). He has also earned multiple PhDs: a PhD in Industrial Engineering Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico de Ciudad Juárez (Mexico), a PhD in Innovation in Product Engineering and Industrial Processes from the University of La Rioja (Spain), a PhD in Engineering and Industrial Technologies from the Public University of Navarra (Spain), a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of La Rioja (Spain), and a PhD in Engineering and Information Technologies from the University of Lleida (Spain). Additionally, he completed a postdoctoral degree in Manufacturing Processes from the University of La Rioja (Spain).

Dr. García’s primary research areas focus on multi-criteria decision-making applied to lean manufacturing, production process modeling, environmental impact analysis, supply chain and sustainability. He is a founding member of the Mexican Society of Operations Research and an active member of the Mexican Academy of Industrial Engineering. Currently, Dr. García is a Level III national researcher recognized by the National Council of Humanities, Science and Technology of Mexico (CONACYT) and collaborates with multiple international research groups. His prolific academic output includes authoring or co-authoring approximately 355 Scopus-indexed documents and 19 books published by international publishers.

Guadalupe Hernández-Escobedo is a national researcher Level I by Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación (SECIHTI) and Perfil Deseable by Programa para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente (PRODEP), and has a bachelor´s degree in Industrial Engineering, a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and a PhD from the University of Leeds (UK). Dr. Hernández-Escobedo has more than 27 years of experience in teaching, research, and application of Industrial Engineering at Tecnológico Nacional de México/Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana.
