Biography

Ahmed A. Elngar is an Associate Professor and Head of the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Beni-Suef University, Egypt. He is also an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the College of Computer Information Technology, American University in the Emirates, United Arab Emirates, and an Adjunct Professor at the School of Technology, Woxsen University, India. Dr. Elngar is the Founder and Head of the Scientific Innovation Research Group (SIRG), the Director of the Technological and Informatics Studies Center (TISC), Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Beni-Suef University. He has published more than 150 scientific research papers in prestigious international journals and authored over 35 books, covering diverse topics such as data mining, intelligent systems, social networks and innovative environments. Dr. Elngar is a collaborative researcher, and he is a member of the Egyptian Mathematical Society (EMS) and International Rough Set Society (IRSS). His other research areas include the Internet of Things (IoT), network security, intrusion detection, machine learning, data mining and artificial intelligence, big data, authentication, cryptology, healthcare systems and automation systems. Dr. Elngar is an Editor and Reviewer of numerous international journals. He has won several awards, including the Young Researcher in Computer Science Engineering award from the Global Outreach Education Summit and Awards 2019, Delhi, India, and the Best Young Researcher Award (Male) (Below 40 Years), from the Global Education and Corporate Leadership Awards (GECL-2018), Rajasthan, India.

Sonal Trivedi is an Associate Professor at Manav Rachna University. She has more than 13 years of teaching experience. Dr. Trivedi has published two books in national publications and 10 edited Scopus-indexed books. She has 53 Scopus-indexed documents, including books, research papers and book chapters. Dr. Trivedi has 7 patents granted and two best paper awards. She has 22 research papers published in UGC-approved journals and 15 papers presented at international and national conferences. Dr. Trivedi has acted as a conference chair at five international conferences. She is also a reviewer of four reputed journals. Dr. Trivedi earned a PhD in management (finance); her thesis was titled “A Study on Risk Management Tools and Techniques in the Life Insurance Industry in India” (2017) at the University of Kota (Rajasthan). She worked as a Teaching Assistant at the S.V. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surat (Institute of National Importance under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India). Dr. Trivedi’s areas of interest include blockchain, finance, banking and insurance. She has been an active member of college committees such as training and placement, admission, examination cell, NAAC inspection, UGC cell, news and events cell, PRO cell and intercollege competitions.

S. David Samuel Azariya serves as Assistant Professor and Head of the Center for Free and Open-Source Software at Sona College of Technology, India. He is currently pursuing a doctorate at Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed a diploma in electronics and communications and a BE in information technology and an ME in computer and communication engineering. He is actively engaged in researching data visualization, computer vision, deep learning and IoT. He has published various research papers at Springer and IEEE conferences related to his research domain. He is a member of the IEI and ISTE professional societies.

Diego Oliva is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Sciences of the University of Guadalajara in the University Center of Exact Sciences and Engineering, Jalisco, Mexico. He was an Invited Professor at the Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Russia (2016–2017). Since 2020, he has been an Invited Researcher at TPU. He has worked in the research group of Evolutionary Computation and Machine Learning. His primary activity is research in computer science, especially in the fields of image processing, machine learning, soft computing and particularly in metaheuristic algorithms. He teaches different courses in the Computer Science Department and advises students in the bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs.

Valentina E. Balas is a Full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania. She earned a PhD cum laude in applied electronics and telecommunications at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is the author of more than 400 research papers. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and the International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), and she is a member of the Editorial Boards of international journals and an evaluator for international projects and PhD theses. Dr. Balas is the Head of the Intelligent Systems Research Centre at Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad. She served as General Chair of the International Workshop Soft Computing and Applications (SOFA) from 2005 to 2022. Dr. Balas is a member of the specialized committee on Computers, Information Technology, and Systems Engineering of the National Council for Attestation of University Titles, Diplomas, and Certificates for the 2024–2028 term. She participated in many international conferences as an Honorary Chair and a Keynote Speaker. Recently she worked on the EU-funded project BioCell-NanoART = Novel Bio-Inspired Cellular Nano-Architectures—For Digital Integrated Circuits, 3M Euro. She is a member of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), a member of SPIE and an IEEE Senior Member. During 2021 and 2022 she was a member of the IEEE European Public Policy Committee Working Group on ICT. Since May 2023, Dr. Balas has been an associate member of the Romanian Academy of Scientists. She is the recipient of the 2019 Tudor Tanasescu Prize from the Romanian Academy for contributions in the field of soft computing methods, the 2023 and 2024 Stefan Odobleja Prize from the Romanian Academy of Scientists, and a 2023 Diploma, Section Information Technology from the General Association of Engineers in Romania.
