Biography

Lior Gideon is Professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Law, Police Science and Criminal Justice Administration, at John Jay College in New York; a Faculty Member of the CUNY Graduate and Doctoral program in Sociology, Criminology and Criminal Justice; and Adjunct Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Hofstra University. Among his major book publications are Substance Abusing Inmates (2010), Rethinking Corrections: Rehabilitation, Reentry & Reintegration (2011), Handbook of Survey Methodology for the Social Sciences (2012), Special Needs Offenders in Correctional Institutions (2013), and Correctional Management and the Law (2017). Further, Dr. Gideon is the co-founder and co-editor-in-chief for an international journal titled Health & Justice.
