Hydroxyapatite coatings are of great importance in the biological and biomedical coatings fields, especially in the current era of nanotechnology and bioapplications. With a bonelike structure that promotes osseointegration, hydroxyapatite coating can be applied to otherwise bioinactive implants to make their surface bioactive, thus achieving faster healing and recovery. In addition to... Read more

"This is a well-written book containing important up-to-date information pertaining to the fabrication, properties, and applications of hydroxyapatite coatings. I highly recommend this book to engineers and researchers working in the field, particularly graduate students."
—Paul K. Chu, City University of Hong Kong

"Hydroxyapatile is indeed one of the important materials in biology, medical, and clinical studies. Of course, coating of this important material is a central issue in its application. This book nicely picks up important subjects in the corresponding field and comfortably organizes chapters with important contents."
—Katsuhiko Ariga, NIMS International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA), Japan
