Biography
Thomas Kannattumadom is a distinguished quality professional and Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and AS 9100 D with IAQG/PROBITAS approval and IAQG-OASIS accreditation. After retiring as Deputy Director/Principal Scientific Officer at the Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA), Ministry of Defence, India, he has conducted over 1,000 person-days of EN9100:2018 certification audits across 11 countries in Asia, Middle East, and Europe. His experience includes 11 years of teaching at the College of Military Engineering, Pune, and 28 years in quality assurance for the development, manufacture, and overhaul of aircraft, aero-engines, and airborne equipment for the Indian Armed Forces. He is a recognized SAMAR Assessor by QCI and has served as a visiting faculty member at the HAL Management Academy, Bangalore, for nearly two decades. He has delivered approximately 300 training days to DRDO Labs, HAL Divisions, and numerous public and private sector aviation, space, and defence organizations. His expertise has guided the implementation of world-class Quality Management Systems (AS 9100) in over 100 organizations. He has been a key technical member in numerous defect and accident investigations and participated in specialized study and audit teams for the Indian Air Force and the Ministry of Defence. His contributions to the quality and safety of Indian military aviation have been recognized. Thomas has presented technical papers at various national and international conferences and seminars and has authored four books.
